propri oggetti artigianali personalizzati.

We are only a few weeks away from Christmas and here at L’angolo delle Muse we have been gearing up for this exciting time and have created a special collection for all those special gifts that our customers every year can’t wait to get their hands on.

The 100 painters at Via Margutta was a great success this past weekend, notwithstanding the weather. The street came alive with the hussle and bussle of visitors and painters alike. We were especially honored to have just outside our store, the works of famous Roman painter, Paolo Veneziani with his paintings of breathtaking sceneries.

This year, this event was aimed at the fight against racism, that with recent events occuring, couldn’t have been more appropriate. In fact, artists from all over the world were chosen to exhibit their works, such as the Polish painter Margherita Lipinska, the Peruvian Freddy Toledo, the Cuban Andres Borges Reyes, and the painter from Mozambique Farida Abdul Rasaque, to name a few. Each artist was chosen based on individual linguistic expression, tecnique and artistic message.

We had a fantastic time and we look forward to hosting them again…

We all live by our watches, yet time is so alusive, we always wish we had more and sometimes we complain we have too much of it to waste….. No matter whether you’re old or young, poor or rich, or where you live, most people run their life based on slots of time…..

What would life be like if we didn’t have to live by it? As good as it sounds, it would probably be chaotic, primitive, in fact almost like animals, although even they have innate clocks….

So we thought that since we cannot live without it, let’s make it interesting to look at. Gucci made their watches in polished steel cases, Dolce & Gabbana straps them in leather, Versace dresses them in gold and quartz, Chanel covers them in ceramic and crystals, etc.

Therefore, we at L’angolo delle Muse are asking our customers if they would like us to create a watch collection too, so as to keep up with the ‘times’…. Actually, as always, our heads are buzzing with new ideas…

Many of our customers love to stop by our workshop and see us in ‘action’, so we wanted to show those of you who can’t stop by our hands at work……

Our main tool is a crochet needle, our grandmother was an expert and she made sure that all the girls in the family all knew how to crochet and taught us from the time we were very young. When we decided to start this business, we wanted to continue in this tradition so we started to experiment……

We asked our grandma to try crocheting with wire, she thought we were nuts, but she did and what resulted was this beautifully interwoven piece of work. From there on, we experimented with different materials, different wires, various shapes and sizes of needles and stringing beads inside the wire while working it.

Since then, this tecnique has been the foundation of all our collections, always trying out different methods and materials so we always have something new and exciting. Our grandma has watched us go from crocheting in her house to the business we have today become and she was always so proud of us and pushed us to never give up. She is in our hearts forever…..

In memory of our grandma who passed away on August 8th 2008.
